Before you begin
A depth map stores relative scene distance as grayscale. Depending on the receiving application, lighter values can represent surfaces closer to the viewer and darker values surfaces farther away.
Create a depth map step by step
Choose a clear source image
Use an image with distinguishable foreground, midground, and background elements. The generator accepts PNG, JPG, and WebP files up to 2 MB.
Generate the map
Upload the image, select Generate depth map, and wait while the configured model estimates relative scene depth.
Review the grayscale result
Compare the original and depth result. Check whether prominent objects and background layers are separated in a way that suits your next workflow.
Download the PNG
When the result is ready, use Download PNG and import the file into compatible editing, compositing, or 3D software.
Understanding grayscale depth
Depth conventions can differ between applications. If the effect appears reversed in another tool, check that tool’s depth orientation or inversion controls.
